“I go into the backcountry a lot so I have to carry everything with me – adding a lens to my arsenal is a pretty big decision. However, I think in every scenario, the answer for me is a resounding yes. This lens could not have impressed me more. It's sharp, it’s beautiful, it weighs almost nothing.” – Nate Luebbe, Field Test: Nate In The Wild Puts The New 20mm f/1.8 G Through Its Paces

"I like the 24mm focal length for wide shots without getting too much distortion. 24mm is usually as wide as I’ll ever need shooting landscapes or street. I loved this 24mm f/2.8 G. The size of the lens makes it a perfect travel companion – it barely weighs anything in my bag. It’s so compact and light and balances perfectly on a camera like my α7 III or α7C. The construction is also solid and feels great in the hand. I’m going to add this lens to my bag – it’s the perfect weight and size for a wide prime lens." – Phil Nguyen, Hands On With The New Sony 24mm f/2.8 G

Sony 40mm f/2.5 G

The 40mm is a compact prime and will be the perfect choice if you are looking for a tighter, more detailed landscape image but want just a little more room than a 50mm. The image quality is remarkable, the focus is fast, and it will be hard to fault, especially at the price and size, making it another affordable lens option that delivers.

"I don’t shoot with a lot of primes, but something about the 40mm clicked with me. I never felt like I needed to switch to a different focal length, which is ideal when you’re out adventuring in a dusty environment like Utah. I am still in disbelief at how lightweight this 40mm G lens is! The compact size is amazing." – Autumn Schrock, Hands On With The New Sony 40mm f/2.5 G

"I was really blown away by the sharpness. I honestly expected the 50mm f/2.5 G to to look like 'budget' lenses, but the image quality is incredible. This 50mm G is going to be a keeper for me. I think this might even replace the 55mm f/1.8 in my bag." – Nate Luebbe, Hands On With The New Sony 50mm f/2.5 G
